Andrea: I know this is like a really cliche kind of question, but just to
get this out of the way, why are you guys called Vroom? Where did that come
from?
Tim: A place where they don't end their sentences in prepositions.
Todd: All right, that's not funny. Nate: It's never been funny.
The members of Vroom are just normal guys leading normal lives.
"I was born at a very young age..." -Jon
"I know I'm only one dude in a big world, but I'm just trying to do my part,
y'know?"
-Ron
The guys are very close. Jon says the best part of waking up is
"Turning over and seeing Ron's angelic face."
They inspire each other musically.
"Jon writes about me. All the songs that you think are about girls are
about me." -Tim
They are all very musically talented.
"I play guitar. Better than Jon." -Tim
"We have no idea what we're doing" -Jon
Their music will deal with you.
"This is birthday party music right here" -Jon
"That's it - we're tiring. We suck the energy right out of you" -Nate
"Are we laying down a particularly good moon bouncing rhythm? Is it good? Oh
yeah? 'Cause if it isn't, we'll do some straight moonbounce music" - Jon
They have a wide variety of influences.
Jon: Nate, what's in your CD player right now?
Nate: Whitney Houston
"If you get lost, just think Counting Crows" -Ron
Their fans love them for their sense of humor.
"You all don't see the humor in calling a song that obviously has a title 'untitled'?"
-Tim
"We may be the funniest people in the world...maybe even the whole town." -Tim
"We're not arrogant, we are just really good looking and talented." -Nate
And they love their fans back.
Q: What's the most interesting thing you've ever taped with a camcorder?
Nate: Ron throwing up to scare a fan away
"We're allowed to fail miserably. I mean, nobody cares." -Jon
"What do you want us to play?...We're not gonna play that." -Tim
They're not worried about the future.
"For the time being, we're doing really well. We really are." -Tim
Read the official vroom bio...
*"all persons chronically diseased are egotists, whether the disease be of mind or of body; whether it be sin, sorrow, or merely the more tolerable calamity of some endless pain, or mischeif among the cords of mortal life. Such individuals are made acutely conscious of self, by the torture in which it dwells. Self, therefore, grows to be so prominent an object with them that they cannot but present it to the face of every causal passer-by."
