Our current bio is getting old. Any ideas for a new one? We had one created and ready to be posted...but it didn't pass the rigorous standards put forth by the people on the vroom message board.

We have decided to release our 5 song demo as an ep/cd. The tentative title is "chickens"...actually, its definitely not the title. Any suggestions on what the name should be? vroom@vroomrock.com
The e.p. will be released on April the 12th at our show in Lynchburg. We will play 3 other "cd release" shows in Norfolk, Vienna, and Harrisbug in April...followed by an east coast tour in June. The cd will only be available at shows or here at vroomrock.com.
Nick put pictures from our Vienna VA show online.
Keep your shoes on at all times.

of a 2003 Mercury. Even our name couldn't sell this crap.

Really...this has got to stop.
(2-19-02,01:28)
We will post a new song called "He seems like a nice guy" sometime
later today or early tomorrow along with information about the release of our
demo in an ep/cd format. We don't have any details right now, (release date,
artwork, price) but we will make those decisions and post them here very soon.
Developing...

New shows have been added. We are expecting to add about 5 more in March for the Florida area in the next few days.
Our apologies to Juergen Olschewski. Read this story... something like that could only happen after visiting vroomrock.com.

This email was fowarded to us. Is this guy kidding or what?
He is referring to our new demo...

New bright ideas have been added.
Todd Is Returning.
He has informed us that he is working on a new flash based site. We've heard
that there will be upwards of 8 new flash stories. Developing...
Don't know who Todd is? Well, he is the only person not wearing a shirt in the
artwork of "throws like a girl". He had his own section on our site
last year...He is much funnier than you. You'll have to wait to get more info
on him.
Shows have been booked for every weekend from the begining of March to the end of April. Loacations will be posted next week. We have 2 more new songs that we will probably be playing.
We are toying with the idea of releasing our demo as a 6 song EP. Is this a good or bad idea? Argue amongst your selves here.
Our new single "He Seems Like a Nice Guy" has been released to select radio stations.
All of the daytime DJ's at WROX in Norfolk now have our new demo. Call them at 757-622-9696.
Every DJ at WHFS in DC also has the new demo. The number there is 800-321-WHFS.
Dan Fein at Y100 has our new demo also. The rest of the Y100 staff will get them by Monday. 1-800-232-1003 is the number.
Every DJ at Z101 in Roanoke will have a copy by Friday. Call them and tell them that we're still really upset about losing to a honkey tonk band in that contest we were in last year, and that they need to make amends. 540-344-1101.
XM channel 52 will play anything of ours that you want to hear. They have the entire new demo. If you bother them enough, you can hear the whole darn thing. Their number is 1.866.267.0448.
We will be sending singles to college radio stations along the east coast in the coming weeks.
We are playing at Cogans in Norfolk VA this weekend. We screwed up the shows page and for the last month, it has said we were playing at Cogans in Fairfax...Well, there is no Cogans in fairfax...Sorry for the confusion.
We are giving out our new demo to those who deserve it. Email streetteam@vroomrock.com to find out more.
Good news. They finally caught the serial kisser. Now we can all relax.
(01-16-02, 24:15)
CD duplication/burning is runningbehind schedule, however, the first shipment will be sent in the next few days. I will be sending them one station at a time with about 5 days in between each station. Each DJ at each station will receive a copy. When the first shipment goes out we will list a name and number of the stations to call. WHFS, Y100 and 96X are the first three on the list. More details soon...
In other news, Macworld:SF was as entertaining as ever. Did anyone see last weeks cover of Time magazine? Not only was the new Apple on the cover, but more importantly, there was a story in the magazine by the title of "Vroom". There was also a story in Entertainment Weekly "top 100 dvds issue" that also had the title "Vroom". It turns our that neither stories were about us. The editor's email at Time Magazine is daily@timeinc.net, and the editor's email at EW is ew-webmaster@timeinc.net. Write them both and tell them that they aren't allowed to use our name unless they put it on the cover...with a big picture of us behind it.
(01-11-02, 23:28)
23 copies of "Vroom: a six song demonstration" will be mailed
in about 10 hours. Here is a song list:
1. i love you (you can't stand me) (5:02)
2. i want to rock (4:49)
3. he seems like a nice guy (4:45)
4. the soundtrack song (5:28)
5. the specifications for the human machine (4:22)
6. bored with overconsumption, poverty became fashionable (5:16)
On January the 12th, 30 more demos will be sent out. They will contain seven songs...the extra song is a more radio friendly "he seems like a nice guy" which totals 4 minutes and 13 seconds. Phone numbers of stations, and the names of the recipients of the cd's will be posted on the 12th so that you can call and tell them they are about to experience sensual delights that most men dare not dream of.
Ron has returned from Florida. Nate and John are hard at work so that they will be able to take plenty of time off when we start playing out again this month. I have been home with my family. It has been snowing lately, and that makes it hard to work outside.
We hope everyone had a wonderful new year. John's was spent working for ESPN, Nate's was spent guarding people at his work, Ron went to parties in Florida, and I went to Charleston, SC.
Be sure to watch Steve Jobs's keynote at Macworld:SF on the Tech Channel tomorrow at noon. It should be fun.
Goodnight.
(12-24-01) New buddy list feature added. Thanks to Caleb at Fluid for the idea.
We are going to venture south of Virginia this March...Email Florida@vroomrock.com if you can help. If you are in a band, know a band, own a club, or can help us get into a club email us.
Merry Christmas. In light of the holiday season, I am providing the following
interesting links about Santa Claus.
Child
Santa booted out of Mall
Santa
might be a terrorist
Yes, they are real stories.
We hope that you will be safe this holiday season. We also hope that many of you accepted our challenge to make gifts this year instead of just buying them.
The demo is complete. One problem...all of the songs are too long for radio, so its going to take another week to have one of them edited so that it will be under 4 minutes. It is looking like most radio stations on the central east coast will have a copy by January 15. Start calling your local station and ask them when they are going to get it... We aren't sure what stations will actually play it...so, keep calling them and asking for it...they can't ignore you but so long. Email vroom@vroomrock.com if you think you deserve a copy of our demo.
Shows are being booked for January 25 and after. If you can bring us to your town, email vroom@vroomrock.com.So far, we have tenative dates in Philadelphia, DC, Norfolk, and Lynchburg. We will post the dates as soon as they are confirmed.
(12-19-01) New bright ideas have been added.
Ok, so I was wrong about the demo being done by midnite on Tuesday. The new due date is midnite on Thursday. Email us if you think we should send you or someone you know a copy.
What does everyone think of the site? Is there anything missing? Should we take down anything? Any comments at all? I'm going to attempt to keep updating this as often as possible, but over the next month, I may run out of stuff to talk about...so we need material. Email us with ideas.
(12-17-01) Another good weekend. The show in DC was wonderful. Thanks to all for coming out to kick it with us. Visit msagear.com and email them and thank them for putting on the show for us. We had the pleasure of playing with our friends In Clover again, and they were great as always.
We will be spending the holidays with our respective families. Ron departs for Florida tomorrow. He takes I-95 all the way to Florida, so feel free to stand along the roadside to wave at him. Jon, Nate, and I(tim) go back to our jobs Monday.
The demo is behind schedule again. Now the revised due date is Tuesday nite by midnite. We are still debating how to distribute this demo. We take ideas at vroom@vroomrock.com.
The projector will be in our possession by midweek, and we plan on starting work on video soon thereafter.
We finally have the funds to order new merchandise. If you liked a previous design, or have an idea for a new one, please email us and let us know.
Finally, I am booking shows for the year 2002, so if you are a promoter, or you know a promoter, or you have the ability to call a local venue and complain that they dont have us play enough, then email us. We do everything from bars to briss's, so just let us know.
(12-12-01 1:55:00) We have just purchased a video projector. Starting in the new year you can expect a multimedia experience like you have never seen before. We had a great weekend in Virginia Beach and Lynchburg(home sweet home). We are getting more arrogant as each minute passes. Who says you need a label, fans, or talent. Those of you who came to see us in Lynchburg(home sweet home) got a preview of what is to come with our new technology. We even had the privilege of Daryll Bluett and his Wonderful World of Pictures opening the show. If you dont know what were talking about, you better ask somebody, here. On another note, we still don't have a van. We spent all of our saved van money on a projector. We feel we better serve you by trying to improve our show...so pity us and bring us Dr. Pepper, Water, Cool Ranch Doritos, towels, and new socks if you can make it out to see us this weekend.
its raining here again.

We are going to the studio tonite to finish all string arrangements with Adam from Fischers Folly around 7pm. Tomorrow at 2pm. we are off to the studio to do the final mix.
It looks like a new song will be released to radio stations on the east coast on January the 1st. We will post numbers of the stations to bother when we send the cd out.
We will be taking about a month or so off to get our show together with our new technology. We will start playing shows again around January the 15th. Look for dates soon.
www.Musicmonthly.com is doing a readers poll. Go there and vote for Manthrax. Then email them and tell them that the only way we are interested in appearing in their magazine is if they put us on the cover.
(12-12-01 08:23:00) Tim and Ron have new Bright Ideas.
(12-01-01)Thanks to everyone for all the food we recieved this weekend. Official count: 5 batches of cookies, 2 cakes, and one bag of cool ranch doritos. While we are very grateful for the gifts given to us but we still have one more request. In addition to whatever food you feel like bringing, stop by a store on the way to the show and pick up some Dr. Pepper and gum. Just some advice of how to get into our good graces.
We stayed at our friend Linzey's house this past Friday. She had spagetti, and a cat and dog. Her mom cooked us lunch, and they provided a table for us to continue our heated rook game. We are at the halfway mark in our game to 10,000 points. Its Ron and Tim vs. Nate and Jon. After the show on Saturday, we went to Conrad's house to sleep. He has a gamecube. If anyone else out there has a gamecube, email vroom@vroomrock.com to invite us to come over and play.
We just finished recording a demonstration album. That's why we've not been performing as many concerts of late. We won't be selling it anytime soon, so if you want to hear it, request it. We will be releasing it to your local radio station by January 1, 2002. Well let you know when to bother them about it.
how was your thanksgiving? ours was nice. Ron is still in florida with the fam. nate's missing. tim and jon got haircuts.

it's raining here.
Your emails to Todd have been working...he has almost completed a few new flash stories, and a few other entertaining things. Email him @ todd@vroomrock.com and tell him to hurry it along. For those of you who dont know Todd, hes the sexy dude who is half naked in the "throws like a girl" artwork. Hes single.
In other news...I just realized that I never updated anyone on the status
of the Vroom travels. Well, we were given a small motor home...we had it for
about a month...and the last time we were in philly...the rear wheels fell off
while we were driving down I-95. We almost died. It was pretty cool. Anyways,
you may have noticed us driving a truck, or station wagon to shows in the past
month or 2...now you know why. I also apologize for the terrible manner in which
i tell stories. Email Todd@vroomrock.com and tell him that he needs to get on
the ball with the new Flash Movie about our incident in Philly.
Radio Station News- Apparently your calls have been helping... WROX in Norfolk
has been playing us a lot, so keep calling them. We are playing a Y100 show
at the pontiac in Spetember, 2 WZZI-Z101 shows in Roanoke in September and ,
and 2 WHFS shows in October...you guys must be doing something right...so keep
calling them and thanking them.
Some of you have shown interest in being on a Vroom street team. Email nick@vroomrock.com
for more info about that...you get free stuff for doing it....such as a compilation
that came out on Monarchy Records this week with our song, "I cant stand another
minute here". The compilation is titled "songs that never made it"...Our confidence
has been hurt a little...but its worth it to have more stuff to give away.
